Nominees are called for annually through media communications and by word of mouth in the Scouting family.  Each CCS Award is granted through the scrutiny of criteria set by the NCCS and local CCS.  The awards are progressive by years of Scouter involvement in the promotion of "Duty to God" through Roman Catholic Faith and public ministry under guidelines and requirements set forth.  _
